Stanton became the first full-time trainer at DHS in 1977 and served in that capacity until 1996. After sitting out a year, he returned to the position in 1997 and continues to serve as a DHS trainer.A Louisville, Ohio 1971 high school graduate, Stanton earned his Bachelors of Science from Bowling Green in 1976 and his Master of Education Degree in 1977. at BGSU, he served as a student athletic trainer and graduate assistant in various sports, with hockey his favorite. Stanton became a certified athletic trainer in 1976 and an Ohio licensed trainer in 1996. St DHS Stanton was also a teacher from 1977-2005, teaching human anatomy, physiology and health. He also was a boys freshman coach from 1983-87, a JV girls basketball coach in 1996-97 and a girls freshman coach from 1997 to 2001. Stanton teaches CPR and pupil activity classes and is currently employed by Defiance Physical Therapy. Stanton has a wife Yvonne and 15-year old son Alex.
